Utilizing the resources of the forest has proven to be a timeless feat for both survival and kinship. The Phadam Forest is no different.
Driving through the forest and setting up camp near the canal, spending the evening looking for fish, shellfish and various vegetables and herbs that the forest has to offer is the basis to creating life and sustainability with what is available to us, given to us by our beautiful mother nature. Set within a serene atmosphere full of life around us, bubbling brooks, flowing waterfalls and the community created amongst ourselves, we craft fire using the limbs from the fallen trees.
We create flames to provide the means to cook our bountiful findings. It is in this time that we solidify our connectivity with each other and the relationship we create with the natural world. Honing our skills to live life off-the-grid, to sustain ourselves and promote less strain on the environment, we adapt to create a self-reliant way of living.
Thiving in this manner is one of the many ways that we hope to promote the importance of the Phadam Forest and a more simple means to living life back to the basics.
