A feeling of joy and happiness overwhelms us after our latest visit to a rural school in Khlong Hoi Kong. We could feel the excitement from the kids as their eyes lit up in getting the chance to learn and study English with our foreign volunteers. With great support and cooperation from the Thai teachers at the school, we sang, played and danced with the roughly 90 students in attendance.
Alternating various activities and incorporating them into our lessons, we taught on topics of peace, forest conservation, waste separation and global warming.
One primary focus was motivating the students to recognize important issues that affect our world today and how it will impact their future.
