we have unfortunately had to postpone any volunteer activities and camps which we had previously planned for.
However, during this time we have tried to remain as active, yet safe as we possibly can, while helping the people of our community to survive during these tough, and very unstable times. We as an organization decided to come together, with local businesses both big, and small, to gather donations to assist in every way we can.
We started by reaching out to businesses, asking for donations of any size, whether it be food, drinks, clothing, anything which could possibly help our community. We could never have expected the response which we received when we shared our vision. Some of the donors included: Siam Makro Limited Hat-Yai branch, who very generously donated enough groceries and toiletries for us to make 140 separate bags of supplies, for 140 different struggling families. 100 of these sets were donated to people within the Hat-Yai City, 40 sets were donated to people outside of the city, and the remainder were donated to villages which were locked down due to a surge in new covid infections.
The best friend of our organizations president made an immense donation of over 1000Kgs of rice, we were able to separate this huge quantity into separate 5kg bags, as you can imagine, we were able to help hundreds of people with this donation alone.
The second minister of Songkhla province made a donation of 40 x 20Kg bags of rice, another huge donation which enabled us help many families who are going through a difficult time due to the ongoing situation.
Another donor named Dechim Khaothong very graciously made a donation of over 200Kgs of rice, he also returned and made another 3-4 large donations.
Road Experience Co.,Ltd (Teacher recruitment agency) made a great donation of dried foods, drinks, and other important items.
Lingua Square English academy also made a large donation of dried foods, drinks, and other important items.
We had an influx of other businesses and individuals reaching out to us who understood the current situation, wanting to help in any way they could. Some people couldn’t make it to our volunteer headquarters to make a donation, so they very generously made a money contribution. Using this money, we were able to purchase even more supplies for the people and families who were struggling. All together we were able to make over 500 packages of items to help the less fortunate.
Once we believed we were ready, our volunteers reached out to members of the public using social media platforms, asking people to come forward if they are in need of help. Once again, we had a huge response from not only the people in the city of Hay-Yai, but also, towns and villages outside of the city. Our volunteers very bravely went and delivered these packages to these people who were in need of assistance, whether they were in the city, or out. Nothing was too much to ask of us, we strive on helping our community in any way we can.
We at IVCA would like to take this moment to thank all of our donors, volunteers and anyone else who previously helped us, for making this journey possible, we turned our dreams into reality, and we couldn’t have done this without you.
