Nestled away in it’s own little paradise just outside the city, you can find the IVCA headquarters. The grounds are adorned with thick vegetation, towering trees, colorful flora and the abundant sights and sounds of wildlife and insects. To the back of the property, a coconut and mulberry farm are maintained and thriving. In an open office wrapped with windows, the IVCA team conducts meetings and holds planning sessions to create the best organization we possibly can to effectively make the changes we hope to see in both our community and globally. All the while, inviting our extensive network of partners and volunteers to join us as we host a number of activities in the courtyards and adjacent home on the property. The house itself, embellished with a variety of paintings and wall hangings from neigh-boring countries as well as traditional Thai decor, hosts volunteers when needed, and staff on-site. The serenity of the workspace, combined with our ongoing efforts to “go green” and build our association, creates a wonderful space to brainstorm, to dream, to preserve the Thai culture, and to cultivate new aspirations to make our place in this world better, both socially and through conservation. We welcome anyone and everyone to be a part of our team who share the same ambitions and goals!
How to get here?
There are many different ways to get to our Headquarters in Hatyai. We are located approximately 1,000 kilometers (or 600 miles) south of Bangkok and it is a simple commute to arrive here. There are short flights available (roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes) that run from morning to evening at very reasonable rates. The train is also a wonderful option, plus there are buses and minivans traveling this route as well.
Once you’ve arrived in Hatyai city, we are a mere 5 minutes away from the Hatyai International Airport. One of our team members is more than willing to pick you up from the airport, just simply arrange with us beforehand of your travel plans and arrival times. The tuk-tuk, a traditional means of travel in Thailand, is another excellent and fun way to travel between the airport or bus stop to arrive at our base camp.
