IVCA is a nonprofit organization that does not seek commercial benefits. Our main goal is to achieve certain social needs without any financial gain. These objectives are specified clearly in the mission of the organization. We are one of the many organizations in Thailand that wants to stand by ourselves.
We do not receive any government support or request money from any departments elsewhere. We want to build our community and organization to grow stronger bit by bit with the help of international volunteers. Therefore, the fees from the volunteer program are the main driving force for our small organization to grow and we will never stop working to reach our goals successfully.
There are a few different types of organizations seeking volunteers. On one hand, there are organizations that need volunteers with specific or professional skills. These organizations seek out doctors, nurses, veterinarians, website developers, etc, and will provide financial support and not require any fees. On the other hand, there are some organizations that do not charge fees but they will require the volunteers to pay for travel, food, and accommodation themselves. Lastly, there are some organizations that have anabundance of financial support and incoming donations so they are not forced to charge any fees, as well as they will provide financial support for travel, food, accommodation, and living expenses.
These types of organizations are very rare and, in most cases, it is not possible to provide opportunities to many different people who want to be volunteers because the costs can be extraneous. Thus, before making a final decision on which organization you want to volunteer with, please familiarize yourself completely with the details of each type carefully until you understand the structure of each organization.
If you are interested in helping a small organization to grow and create a solid foundation within it’s community to nurture the local population and further promote sustainability for years to come, you may consider contributing a fee to volunteer.
